Food:

I found many similarities with my partner. Even our families are very similar. We normally both of us eat all kind of foods (Well, there are some exceptions) and in a healthy way, I mean, the correct amount and balanced.

School:

He has to stay for 8 hours, and I have also like 8 hours or so. I am in the science’s branch as well as him. His favourite subject is Biology. We both agree in that we don’t study as much as we can…

Culture:

Hummm… I don’t think I could call that English, I think is should call it Spanenglish or something similar. However Ashtie’s father speaks English. He is Kurdish, (It’s a branch of Muslim) and I’m Cristian. I think I would like to live in EEUU or in it’s defect in England. Ashtie told me that he would want to live in Spain, but I don’t think that was totally true. In my opinion the best thing about my country is that… Well, it’s sunny. Ashtie said that his favourite thing about his country was organization. No, I don’t have my own computer, but Asthie has his own one.

Politics:

Queen Beatrix and Prime Minister rules the Netherlands. Spain is ruled by Zapatero. I think is a good way to decrease drogadiction. Ashtie thinks the same as me.

Leasure:

Rock and Heavy Metal, while he listens a bit of all kinds of music. As much as I can. However Ashtie has to train a lot, because he wants to be World Karatee Champion, so he does not have enough time.

Future:

Don’t miss any good chance, have my time well spent... and live! I would want to be a doctor, or something related with medicine, Ashtie would want to be a pilot.

INTRODUTION

The purpose of this work is to study the similarities and the differences between Dutch and Spanish people.

SIMILITUDES

She eats normally meat and fish. She has got a dog. Her favourite subject is French. She does activities with her friends like go out, go shopping, disco, cinema and dinner and also with her family. She looks Disney channel in TV. She is going to university. What she most likes about her country are multicultures and freedom. She practices voleyvol.

DIFERENCES

I am not going out for lunch or dinner 3 times a month. I am not 36 hours in the school. My family is larger, I have two brothers and one sister. Not everybody speaks English. I am religious and she is not. I don’t have a personal computer and I don’t use Facebook. I like Pop music. She likes hip hop.

CONCLUSION

That we are very similar though in some things there are differences.

In this report I’m going to write about the differences between Spanish people and Dutch people.

FOOD:

He usually eats Dutch food and potatoes accompanying the food. He also eats bread with ham or butter or sandwiches. I eat Spanish food and I accompanying the food with salad. He likes every food but he really hates fish.He eats with his friends once a week. I eat with my friends once or twice a week.

SCHOOL:

My partner gets up at 8:00 to go to school. He begins the classes at 8:30 and he usually finishes between two or three. I get up at seven o’clock to go to school and my classes beginning at the same time that his classes. He has 14 subjects and his favorite subject is physical education. I have subject like mats, history, music, Spanish, English, economy geography, etc…and my favorite subjects are maths and physics.

CULTURE:

In his family all speak English. Also his mother speaks Spanish because she was born in Venezuela. In my family only my brother and I speak English. He is not religious and me too. He likes Holland because everyone has a lot of freedom. I like Spain because here it is sunny almost all the time. He has his personal computer to do whatever he wants. He is a lucky boy! I have to share the computer with my brother and my mother.

POLITICS:

In Holland, they have a Constitutional monarchy like in Spain. Their Prime minister is Mark Rutte and here is Jose Luis Zapatero. He thinks about drug policy in his country is good but now it is more controlled there that in the rest of the world. I think that here in Spain the drug policy should be approved because it can be controlled.

LEASURE:

He likes listen music like reggeton. I like every music type. He spends time with his friend about five hours a week or weekend as me. His favourite sports are tennis and football. My favourite sport are football and basketball. He does tennis. I do danza del vientre. He does lots of things with his friends like play football, go to the disco and things like that. I go out with my friends, we walk, we do pictures, etc. He really likes comedy programs such as two and a half men like me. When he goes out with his friends he drinks alcohol, and I sometimes drink alcohol. He uses social reds like Tuenti, Hyves, Facebook. I also use the same social red.

FAMILY:

He has got pets, a little dog like me. His dog’s name is Chico and my dog’s name is Laika. He doesn’t spend much time with his family. I usually go with my family to the cinema or for example, every Sunday we meet in my house and we eat together. He has more relationship with his father and his mother. I have more relationship with my mother.

FUTURE:

In the future, he wants to be a pilot. However I don’s know what I want to be in the future. He wants to go to the university as me. I want to live in my own house when I have 18 years old to be more independent and know what the life is. He doesn’t know what he want to do when he have 18 years old.

He would like puentin, parachuting and rafting. He is going to go to the university and he would like to study biology.I would like the same that he .I would like to study a mathematics career.

He usually eats all types of food.He also likes spanish food, because when he was here he liked all food here.In my case I usually eat spanish food, but sometimes I eat other types of food like Ukranian, Chinese, Italian and Turkish food.

During a whole week she spends about 39 hours, I spend 35. They have different schedules and have class until 5 in the afternoon or so while we finish classes at 14.20 or 15.15 depending on the day.
His subjects are: Chemistry, Biology, English, Dutch, Gym, Science, CKV psychology, physics, mathematics, lbs(about religions) and literature.
He spends about an hour to study if there is an exam he sturdies more i studi about 30 minutes a day if there is an exam more like him.

CULTURE
Both families speak English and mine practice christianism.

He likes living in Holland but if he had to choose another country to live in it would be the USA.
What he likes the most of her country is the food, the sport centers and the people in general. What I like about my country is the climate.

At lunch, they usually eat a sandwich, not something "heavy", like we usually do. She eats, mainly, potatoes and cauliflower. This is different from what I usually eat, as I usually eat hot food for lunch and something light for dinner. This difference between both meal styles is due to the different timetables.
They have dinner out about once a month with their friends, which more or less the same as we do. We both go out to have dinner in a restaurant with our friends for special occasions not every weekend.

SCHOOL
During a whole week they spend about 40 hours; here, we spend about 32. We have different timetables: they have class until 5 in the afternoon while we finish classes at 14:20 or 15:10 depending on the day. Her subjects are: Chemistry, Biology, English, German, Dutch, Gym, Science+, CKV (culture and art,) psychology, physics, mathematics, lbs (about religions) and literature.
Both of us usually spend one hour studying every day, except when we have an exam next day (in that case, we spend more time studying).
CULTURE
Both families speak English and none of us practice any religion. She says that if she had to live in another country, she would choose EEUU. Her favorite things from her country are the food, the schools, shopping, and the people. My favorite things about my country are also the food and the people, and in my case, the weather too. In her family everyone has his own computer, which is different from my case ; in my family we have just two computers for four members of the family.

We both like listening to modern music; she listens to Top 40, and I listen to Hit FM. During the whole week, she spends most of the time with her friends; so do I. She likes going shopping, chilling and partying with her friends, but she also likes practicing sports, such as gymnastics. I also like doing that kind of things, except in the matter of sports, where I do not practice gymnastics, but volleyball, swimming, etc. She watches soap operas, reality shows or movies on TV, which is more or less the same as we I do here in Spain. She likes thriller books, so do I. When she goes out with her friends, she sometimes drinks alcohol, but she doesn’t smoke. The social webs that she normally uses are Facebook and Hyves, although she also has Tuenti. In Spain, teenagers usually use Tuenti, but I also have Facebook and Hyves.
FAMILY

She has a cat. Although, as I have said before, she spends most of her time with her friends, she sometimes goes out with her family in the weekend, or on holidays... She gets on well with everyone in her family.

FUTURE
Three things she would like to do in her life: bungee jumping, get marry and have a family. I would like to do parachuting, to spend some years living in the Maldives or in the Bahamas (travel a lot, in general), and maybe have a family. When she becomes an adult she would like to be rich, I wouldn't mind to be rich too when I grow up.
She wants to go to the University but she doesn’t know yet which career she is going to study. I also want to go to the University, and although I’m not completely sure about what I’m going to study, I think it will be something related to Medicine.

Normally he eats in the school because he go out at 4 or 5 o'clock. When he eats in his house, he eats rice with meat and potatoes.I normally eat spanish food and I always eat in my house because I go out of school al 2:30 o'clock.
He almost never goes out for  lunch or dinner with his friends because they live faraway between they. Here me and my friends lunch or dinner together because here we live more or less near, bur only at the weekend.

School

He passes 8 hours a day in the school, he has subjects of economic and his favourite subject is economic because it speaks about  their city and the world. In my case I have English, maths, PE, ethic, Spanish and history. My favourites are English and ethic.

Culture

The religion that he practice is Catholicism. My religion is Christianity but I don't  practice.

He at his house often eats rice. And at my house I usually eat all Spanish food, Spanish omelet, lentils, cocido madrileño, paella and croquettes. He eats with his friends once a week. I eat with my friends once or twice  a week.

School

My partner passes in the school around 33 hours a week. I pass around 30 hours in the school. He has a lot of economical subjects and his favorite subject is economy. I have subject like mats, history, music, Spanish, English, economy geography, etc…And my favorite subject is English, music and, economy geography. He study perhaps a half an hour each day. I study an hour a day more or less.

Culture

In his family, only his father speaks English …In my family, my mother speaks English because she lived in London 35 years ago. And he is not religious he is atheist and me too. If he has to live in other country, he would live in Canada; If I had to live in another country I would live in USA, Australia or England. He likes Holland because everuone has a lot of freedom. I like Spain because here there are different cultures, and it is sunny almost all the time. He has his personal computer like me.

He does sport with his friends, he does a lot of things. I go out with my friends, We walk, we surfing on the net. He like sitcoms like programs TV, And he also like thriller films , and me too. He wanted to visit Real Madrid's stadium, Santiago Bernabeu, and I want to visit in Holland the Ana Franck’s museum. He uses social reds like Tuenti, Hyves, Facebook and he’s recently deleted his twitter account. I also use the same social red.

Family

He hasn't got any pet…but I have a pet, I have a Dog and her name is Lola. He spends time with his family and they do a lot of thing together. I spend time with my family like for example every weekend we meet in my house or in my uncle's. He has more relationship with his father and me with my mother.

Future

 In his future He would like to become a successful businessman, make a world trip and make friends for life. And in my future I would work in what I like, and would travel for all world, and have my own family. And he wants to buy his own home like me. And for finish he wants to go to the University for Do the IBA or IBM program, and I want go to university for do marketing and advertising.

He eats normally sandwiches at home and he found strange that at my home we usually eat hot food and he told me that they don’t.

One thing I found very strange was that he ate the strawberries with bread like a sandwich.

This report is for show you the different and similar customs and things that I have with my Dutch partner and with our countries in general.

Food:

She eats obviously Dutch food but normally she eats vegetables. In almost every meal she eats potatoes accompanying the food. I also accompany the food with potatoes but not with all the food, it’s not so exaggerated. I also accompany the food with salad. In the case of my partner they also eat Indian food, because her father is Indian.

She no often goes out for lunch or dinner with her friends because it is very expensive. She told me that meal is chipper than dinner. I think in Spain in a lot of restaurants happens the same.

High School:

She doesn’t have an exactly time to go out from the school. Some days she comes out early and others late. I also have a different timetable, on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays I go out from school early and on Tuesdays and Thursdays I go out from school late.
She has the same subjects that I have except Dutch lessons and music lessons; she has Dutch, French, Spanish, Music, Maths, Geography, and Gymnastics… She’s favourites subjects are French and Spanish. I also have French lessons but it’s not my favourite subject.
She told me that she spend studying 2 hours each day, I spend 1hour and a half more or less.

Culture:

Her family speaks English because almost all the people in Holland speak English, my parents don’t know English.
She practice Catholic religion like me but I’m not go to the church and she goes two days a month.
She told me that if she has to live in other country she would choose Portugal because she has family there, Indian family. If I have to choose other country to live I think I would choose The Netherlands or Scotland.
She likes of Holland the different cultures that you can find there. Here in Spain we have also may people from different countries but I think there you can see it better.
She doesn’t have her own computer. I don’t have my own computer too.

Politics:

The government and the Queen rule the Netherlands. Here in Spain rule the government too.
About the drug policy in The Netherlands she thinks that its good when is legal because the people maybe do not use it that often because when it’s illegal people will use it often because then it is exciting. I’m agreeing with her because here in Spain happens the same, maybe no with strong drugs but with the tobacco and other things that are not drugs.

Leasure:

She listens to R&B music, pop and also Indian music. I also listen to R&B but I don’t listen to Indian music.
Depends of the week she expends more time with her friends. If I have exams I can’t expend a lot of time out with my friends.
She likes tennis, badminton and table tennis. I don’t like sports, I cans see on the TV football matches but I don’t like practice anyone.
When she is out with her friends they relax, they laugh, watch movies and make photos. When I go out with my friends we also make photos, sometimes we watch movies too and we have a good time.
She watches American programs. I don’t see often the TV.
She reads books about love stories. I also read books about love stories but I don’t like so much reading.
She drinks sometimes alcohol with her friends. I sometimes also drink alcohol.
She told me that she would like to go shopping when she stays here. I don’t like so much shopping but I suppose that when I go to Holland I’ll like to go shopping too.
She uses Facebook and Hyves. I use Tuenti, Facebook and Hyves.

Family:

She doesn’t have any pets. I have a dog.
She spends time with her family and does things together. Sometimes I also spend time with my family.
She has the best relationship with her sister. I think me too, because I can tell everything to her because I don’t have more brothers or sisters.

Future:

Three things that she would like to do in her life are: New friendship, be happy and travel. I also want to travel and have new friends and of course be happy.
She would like to be a teacher in the future. I don’t want to be a teacher because I can’t stand children. I would like to work in the TV but behind the cameras.
She maybe goes to the university and if she goes she is going to do the career of teaching. I would like to go to the university and I’ll do the career of audiovisuals.
