REPORT. Jacqueline Vallejo Fernández

In this report I’m going to write about the differences between Spanish people and Dutch people.

FOOD:

He usually eats Dutch food and potatoes accompanying the food. He also eats bread with ham or butter or sandwiches. I eat Spanish food and I accompanying the food with salad. He likes every food but he really hates fish.He eats with his friends once a week. I eat with my friends once or twice a week.

SCHOOL:

My partner gets up at 8:00 to go to school. He begins the classes at 8:30 and he usually finishes between two or three. I get up at seven o’clock to go to school and my classes beginning at the same time that his classes. He has 14 subjects and his favorite subject is physical education. I have subject like mats, history, music, Spanish, English, economy geography, etc…and my favorite subjects are maths and physics.

CULTURE:

In his family all speak English. Also his mother speaks Spanish because she was born in Venezuela. In my family only my brother and I speak English. He is not religious and me too. He likes Holland because everyone has a lot of freedom. I like Spain because here it is sunny almost all the time. He has his personal computer to do whatever he wants. He is a lucky boy! I have to share the computer with my brother and my mother.

POLITICS:

In Holland, they have a Constitutional monarchy like in Spain. Their Prime minister is Mark Rutte and here is Jose Luis Zapatero. He thinks about drug policy in his country is good but now it is more controlled there that in the rest of the world. I think that here in Spain the drug policy should be approved because it can be controlled.

LEASURE:

He likes listen music like reggeton. I like every music type. He spends time with his friend about five hours a week or weekend as me. His favourite sports are tennis and football. My favourite sport are football and basketball. He does tennis. I do danza del vientre. He does lots of things with his friends like play football, go to the disco and things like that. I go out with my friends, we walk, we do pictures, etc. He really likes comedy programs such as two and a half men like me. When he goes out with his friends he drinks alcohol, and I sometimes drink alcohol. He uses social reds like Tuenti, Hyves, Facebook. I also use the same social red.

FAMILY:

He has got pets, a little dog like me. His dog’s name is Chico and my dog’s name is Laika. He doesn’t spend much time with his family. I usually go with my family to the cinema or for example, every Sunday we meet in my house and we eat together. He has more relationship with his father and his mother. I have more relationship with my mother.

FUTURE:

In the future, he wants to be a pilot. However I don’s know what I want to be in the future. He wants to go to the university as me. I want to live in my own house when I have 18 years old to be more independent and know what the life is. He doesn’t know what he want to do when he have 18 years old.

Food

He usually eats in the high school because he goes out at 4 or 5 but the other days he eats dutch food .He goes out for dinner once a month .I always eat in my home ,I sometime eat spanish food for example: cocido ,paela, small cake, ect.I often go out for dinner with my friends.
School

He's in the high school 8 hours .He has Chemistry, Biology, English, Dutch, Gym, Science, , physics, mathematics,ect.His favourite subjec is biology .He study about one hour every day .I pass 6 hours .I have Spanish, French ,English ,Biology ,Gym ,Chemistry, physics ,ect.My favourite subject is the same that he. I study one or two hopurs .
Culture

Her family speak English ,they don't practice any religion. He would like to live in USA .He like his country because there are good food , shops, cities and the people. He has his own computer.My family don't speak English except my brother.I'm catholic but I don't practice it .I also would like to live in USA. My favourite things of my country are some cities , the beach , the weather and the food.I have my own computer.

Leasure

He usually listens house , hip-hop, rap or similar .He's more time with his friend about 20 hours for week .he likes hockey and soccer. when he goes out with his friend he goes for exaple to the cinema or to the house of his friend for play to the xbox 360. He doesn't watch much the tv but when he watches it he watches sports programes or a film .He hardly ever reads a book .He doesn't smoke but he sometimes drink acohol . he use twiter , facebook , hyves and tuenti .I listen every type of music .I'm with my friend everydays. I like basket , soccer and tennis . I go out to the shopping center and to the cinema .I watch funny films. I read thriller books and romantic books. I don't smoke and drink alcohol .I use tuenti , facebook and twiter .

Family

He has a dog .He doesn't spend a lot of time with his family. He has a good relationship wiht his older sister.I haven't any pet. I spend about 4 hours with my family. I have a good relationship with my brother.
Future

He would like puentin, parachuting and rafting. He is going to go to the university and he would like to study biology.I would like the same that he .I would like to study a mathematics career.

FOOD

He usually eats all types of food.He also likes spanish food, because when he was here he liked all food here.In my case I usually eat spanish food, but sometimes I eat other types of food like Ukranian, Chinese, Italian and Turkish food.
He normally eats with his friends because they eat at school and he goes out with his friends for dinner too.I almost never have lunch with my friend, often if we have a homework and in a special ocassion, at weekends sometimes we have dinner together.

SCHOOL

During a whole week she spends about 39 hours, I spend 35. They have different schedules and have class until 5 in the afternoon or so while we finish classes at 14.20 or 15.15 depending on the day.
His subjects are: Chemistry, Biology, English, Dutch, Gym, Science, CKV psychology, physics, mathematics, lbs(about religions) and literature.
He spends about an hour to study if there is an exam he sturdies more i studi about 30 minutes a day if there is an exam more like him.

CULTURE
Both families speak English and mine practice christianism.

He likes living in Holland but if he had to choose another country to live in it would be the USA.
What he likes the most of her country is the food, the sport centers and the people in general. What I like about my country is the climate.
He owns a computer, his family work with computers so he has three. In my family we have a computer for each one of us too.

POLITICS

Holland is a Constitutional monarchy like Spain. Duth minister is Mark Rutte.
About the drug policy, he thinks that it is good because is a important factor that attracts tourists to Holland.
I think that it is good because is legal and they have a special palces for it.

LEASURE

He listens rock and rap. I listen all types of music specially rap and hip hop. He passes with his friends 10 hours a week more or less when he isn't in school and he and his friends play football . I pass 10 hours too and I go to the parks and I play a instrument, the contrabass.
He watch Films, he doesen't like series but in my case I watch TV programs and I like comedy programs and series or films.
He does´nt read, i read a lot.
When he go out with his friends, he drinks and smokes me not i hate smoking.
The thing that he likes of Spain is food and climate.

FAMILY

He hasn't any pets i have a big fish tank.
He spend time with his family and they do things together, about 3 hours a day and he has more relation with his father like me.

FUTURE

Three things she would like to do in his life: bungee jumping, get marry and have a family. I would like to go in a trip around the world, have a family and be a famous buisnesmman and sportsman.
When he becomes an adult he would like to be rich, I also want be rich too when I grow up.
He wants to go to the University but he hasn’t decided yet what career to do, I have the same problem, but maybe I would like to do something like medicine or translator if not somnething that makes money even if i dont like it.

FOOD
At lunch, they usually eat a sandwich, not something "heavy", like we usually do. She eats, mainly, potatoes and cauliflower. This is different from what I usually eat, as I usually eat hot food for lunch and something light for dinner. This difference between both meal styles is due to the different timetables.
They have dinner out about once a month with their friends, which more or less the same as we do. We both go out to have dinner in a restaurant with our friends for special occasions not every weekend.

SCHOOL
During a whole week they spend about 40 hours; here, we spend about 32. We have different timetables: they have class until 5 in the afternoon while we finish classes at 14:20 or 15:10 depending on the day. Her subjects are: Chemistry, Biology, English, German, Dutch, Gym, Science+, CKV (culture and art,) psychology, physics, mathematics, lbs (about religions) and literature.
Both of us usually spend one hour studying every day, except when we have an exam next day (in that case, we spend more time studying).
CULTURE
Both families speak English and none of us practice any religion. She says that if she had to live in another country, she would choose EEUU. Her favorite things from her country are the food, the schools, shopping, and the people. My favorite things about my country are also the food and the people, and in my case, the weather too. In her family everyone has his own computer, which is different from my case ; in my family we have just two computers for four members of the family.

POLITICS

The president of the Netherlands is Mark Rutte, in Spain is Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
She thinks that The Netherlands has a good organization with the drug policy they have.
LEASURE
We both like listening to modern music; she listens to Top 40, and I listen to Hit FM. During the whole week, she spends most of the time with her friends; so do I. She likes going shopping, chilling and partying with her friends, but she also likes practicing sports, such as gymnastics. I also like doing that kind of things, except in the matter of sports, where I do not practice gymnastics, but volleyball, swimming, etc. She watches soap operas, reality shows or movies on TV, which is more or less the same as we I do here in Spain. She likes thriller books, so do I. When she goes out with her friends, she sometimes drinks alcohol, but she doesn’t smoke. The social webs that she normally uses are Facebook and Hyves, although she also has Tuenti. In Spain, teenagers usually use Tuenti, but I also have Facebook and Hyves.
FAMILY

She has a cat. Although, as I have said before, she spends most of her time with her friends, she sometimes goes out with her family in the weekend, or on holidays... She gets on well with everyone in her family.

FUTURE
Three things she would like to do in her life: bungee jumping, get marry and have a family. I would like to do parachuting, to spend some years living in the Maldives or in the Bahamas (travel a lot, in general), and maybe have a family. When she becomes an adult she would like to be rich, I wouldn't mind to be rich too when I grow up.
She wants to go to the University but she doesn’t know yet which career she is going to study. I also want to go to the University, and although I’m not completely sure about what I’m going to study, I think it will be something related to Medicine.

Food

Normally he eats in the school because he go out at 4 or 5 o'clock. When he eats in his house, he eats rice with meat and potatoes.I normally eat spanish food and I always eat in my house because I go out of school al 2:30 o'clock.
He almost never goes out for  lunch or dinner with his friends because they live faraway between they. Here me and my friends lunch or dinner together because here we live more or less near, bur only at the weekend.

School

He passes 8 hours a day in the school, he has subjects of economic and his favourite subject is economic because it speaks about  their city and the world. In my case I have English, maths, PE, ethic, Spanish and history. My favourites are English and ethic.
He studies 1 or 2 hours a day and me too.

Culture

His family speak English, and other languages too. My family don't speak English, they don't know.
The religion that he practice is Catholicism. My religion is Christianity but I don't  practice.
If he had live in another country, he choose  live in Spain, he say that in Alcorcon but the thing that he like of his country is the cheese. I choose Canada or Britain for live and of my country, the thing that I like is food and climate.
In his house, he has own computer in his bedroom. I haven't  my own computer because it is of my brother and my parents.

He hasn't any pets like me but I want a dog because I like the dogs and here in Spain almost all people has any pets.

Future

The 3 things that he would do in his life are: He has a windows for look the red light districts, he would join the marine corps and he would does parachute jumping. He want be psychologist or marine but he doesn't  know if he will go to University. I would do: Have a good family and good work, travell to the world and live in other country and I think that I will go to University for to do teacher career.
